Thank you for your input and feedback and interest in JPM. I'm still assembling a project team. A new and rebuilt core has been hashed out and I want to apologize for the delays. Once work resumes, I'm sure things will go well since we have so much information from the Joomla! developers - this really helps me/us to build better, safer, and more future forward for us all! Stay tuned!

Regarding horse pedigrees
Hi,
I suppose that many breeders would be interested in publishing/reading horse pedigrees in a format clearly depicting linebreeding degree, tail female line, etc. like this example: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/mayana2
Unfortunately, breeding horses is not like breeding cats. Please do not misunderstand this. Not only it is very expensive but it also requires a lot of studying, comparing, thinking about all ancestors' coats, size, performance, diseases, faults, progeny, successes, etc... I mean, every mating has to be carefully studied as you can get just one foal out of every broodmare a year -unless you have enough resources to carry out embryo transfers into several recipient mares. Taking a wrong decision would mean loosing a lot of time and money.
In conclusion, I believe that a more comprehensive view of a horse's genotype would be more useful and desirable by true horse breeders, on the one hand, for those who are promoting their stallions online and, on the other hand, for those who are looking for new outcrosses for their breeding program.
I hope you can introduce any of these concepts in your component.
Last but not least, congratulations for coming up with the horse pedigree idea for your extension. I wish you lots of success!

I Swear
Hi,
I swear that sure this gonna be a feast for my website and my website visitors... Thanks...
After attending the Joomla! Developers Conference in NYC a couple weeks ago, I am re-thinking the next releases. There will be one release called JPM Universal that will house any animal on the planet, dogs included. I am still looking for help and spare time. Expect to see a beta out sometime between Jan-Feb 2010.
Thank you all for your support and patience.

When can we get the Pedigree Comp for Dogs
Hi,
I have come across The Pedigree manager for horses it looks really great. Cheers... And when can i get the Pro for Dogs... I'm eagerly waiting for that product...
Hello. I tested the joompedigrees component, and wow, that's a great job! I'm trying to translate it in french. I'll send you a copy as soon as it's done.
But ... there is something i don't understand ... I would like to make a menu element linked to a single horse. So i made a joomla menu, using the "horsedetail" feature ... but it doesn't ask me what horse i want ... Basic parameters tab is empty ... I can't edit/add anything So on the front end, the menu element ends on an error "PD_NOHORSEFOUND" (of course, since i didn't tell him what IDhorse to display :s)
How are we supposed to link a single horse? I don't get that ...
Anyway, thank you for your component, and thank you (again) if you can find some time to answer me
Best regards from France, Ben

front end users
JPM currently does not offer front end editing capabilities. I am hopeful that future releases will be able to offer this.

Displaying different content in multiple areas of the website
I want to use this component in more than one section on my site, but I want to showcase completely different horses in the separate areas.
Example: 1. I have a sale barn with a set of horses for sale 2. then I have broodmares that are not for sale
Can I install another component, or somehow use this one twice within my site?

How to set JPM Menu Item - Reply
You will find JPM under joomla back end/administrator control panels>Components Heading. It ships with some sample data. If you would just like to preview with the sample data, please browse to Menus, create a new menu item, and add the Horse Listing selection under the JPM menu selections. When you preview on your new menu tab, you should see the component come up in list view with the sample data. Click an image or a horse name to drill into the records browsing functions.
I have installed the component, but I do not know how to implement it withing my site. Is there a module that I am missing?? How do I use this component to showcase within my site without a module?
This error tells me you have installed v1.21. This error tells me that you need to follow the instructions for creating the image path folders. This step is not necessary in v2.0 beta as the newer version will create the image folders automatically.
I have to build a site for a jumping stable, so I did install JPM. When I want to manage my horses, I discover a few problems. At the top of the page I see a error: JFolder::files: Path is not a folder Als a error in the image section: Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /usr/home/deb6825n2/domains/stallunsche.com/public_html/libraries/joomla/html/html/list.php on line 62
Is there a simple solution to solve this problem.
Also I have a feature request: is it possible to add more pictures and video of the horse in JPM? That is what I need.
